UA COACHE Survey

Collaborative On Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE)

The COACHE Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey was conducted in Spring 2018 of UA tenure-track, continuing-status, and career-track faculty who had been at the University of Arizona for over a year and were not on leave. Faculty in administrative roles were not included in the survey population. Much of the survey is comprised of five-point Likert Scale items. The responses are averaged, and the averages are compared to five selected peer institutions, 109 cohort institutions, and the responses to the last survey in 2014. The responses are broken down by tenure status, rank, gender, and race, and comparisons are provided of the demographic groups. Comparisons are also provided to related colleges in cohort and peer institutions in Divisional Analysis tables.

COACHE Benchmarks  provide the averages of several items that fall within the same general theme along with the Divisional Analysis table with comparisons to related colleges in cohort and peer institutions.

Thematic Analyses provide details on responses to individual items in the major areas along with the Divisional Analysis table with comparisons to related colleges in cohort and peer institutions.

Global Satisfaction items provide general perceptions of the institution.
