At the start of each academic year, the University of Arizona collects census data which helps the institution to track and record certain information about the student population, such as enrollment counts, graduation and retention rates, demographic information, as well as other crucial datasets. Student census information is captured through data snapshots, which represent point-in-time data (at a consistent frequency), so that institutional metrics can be analyzed for year-to-year comparisons. This year’s official Fall 2023 Census snapshots took place on September 11, 2023, and that data is now available for you to explore!

As the student landscape within higher education continues to shift, the campus community continues to adapt our daily practices while innovating our approaches to student success. Supporting access to aggregated student data is a major priority for the institution’s leaders and the UAIR team. The fall census snapshot is one of the most important services UAIR provides to the university since the data it provides helps UArizona decision-making and will be referenced for years to come. The census process is an ongoing effort that continues to evolve to meet reporting requirements and campus needs and would not be possible without the collaboration and dedication of the campus units who work to organize and execute the Fall Census Report each and every year.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated teams and campus community whose unwavering support and tireless efforts brought energy to countless events and outreach opportunities that drew talented new students from around the globe...- Kasey Urquídez, EdD, Vice President | Enrollment Management & Dean | Undergraduate Admissions

As noted by our colleagues in University Communications and the Office of Enrollment Management, this fall surpassed last year’s historically large class of incoming first-year students, as well as made other significant and historical mile markers. Now you can explore the Fall 2023 Census snapshot highlights in further detail and uncover your own headlines within the data. Access to this information allows the campus community to make data-informed insights about the UArizona student body.
