Database & Storage Management is a primary function of UAIR that calls for securing data, facilitating access, as well as properly and regularly backing up the data. The Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and associated Data Lakes managed by UAIR are some of the primary approaches the department takes to store data for UArizona. There are many facets to the implementation of proper database and storage management at the university, which include network and data encryption for all connections, top-performing servers with high levels of access and availability during even the most crucial times of any given year, and lastly data backups on servers across physical regions to serve as a safety precaution in cases of natural disasters or system compromises.
