Data Modeling & Design refers to the organization of information and creation of visual representations to showcase data found in the EDW. This modeling and design practice supports bringing together different types of data. Data models create the foundation for subject areas in UAccess Analytics. As a part of the development process, UAIR creates visualizations of data models, often referred to as Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD), which make it easier for customers to understand the relationships among data in a given subject area. Oftentimes, data models are built after identifying business requirements and associated reporting needs. The CSW-Student Academic Profile subject area is one such example of a model UAIR developed to facilitate reporting about different aspects of a student’s academic experience.
