Description:
Cucumber natural size. The one with leaf attached is red when ripe - has a rather strong bitter taste - but little worse than our cultivated form. The one with distinct white spots - surrounded by deeper green and the whole deep green. The other with pale markings and a lighter color than first is much more bitter. And I have seen no red fruits. It is very much like the other. [Shantz travel journal, Apr. 17, 1920]
