A pile of cocoanuts at the side of the street on ocean front. [Shantz travel journal, Apr. 5, 1920] Cocoanuts are a crop of prime importance and are planted everywhere. The island looks wooded - and is - but mostly with Casuarina, cocoanut, clove, mango .... They have promised a set of cocoanuts for our dept. and they have done some work on introduction.
