Description:
Nest of a queen termite. A clay almost as hard as rock, with pore like openings on one side and arranged in almost a circle. At each opening a soldier stands striking blindly at your finger every time they touch it. Nearly natural size. [Shantz travel journal, Feb. 29, 1920]
