Description:
Detail of basket used most commonly for carrying bundles. The two oil palm leaves - shafts form bottom and leaflets are woven to form a very long narrow basket, with bast tied in to strengthen the sides. Water grass used instead of bast in this case. Two long packages of salt in basket. They are wrapped in leaf like combretum with bast fiber around. There are two or three manihot roots stuck in at the ends. These baskets are used a great deal.
