Description: 
Below shows open grass and Acacia. It seems damper here but the thorn are still abundant. Thickens up again just beyond and Strychnos (Kaffir orange or mock orange, said by British Consul General to be important elephant food) very abundant here. There is also candelabra euphorbia but not very important. Low veld but trees thick - a beautiful shrub here - color of flowers like purple Bougainvillea. [Shantz travel journal, Oct. 21, 1919]
